Mizoram supplies bamboo

Aizawl, March 7 (UNI) Mizoram Bamboo Development Corporation(MBDC) has supplied about 1,39,000 tonne bamboo to Hindustan Paper Corporation Ltd(HPCL) and Cachar Paper Mill during past six months, official sources said today.

The sources here said that export of such volume of bamboos has been done through six contractors from Bairabi, Kanhmun and Saiphai bamboo collecting centres of Mizoram.

''We are gearing up to export as many bamboo as possible before they flower,'' MBDC officials said adding that export deal with Bangladesh is also finalised and shortly the corporation will start bamboo supply.

ISO 27001 was the formal standard of certification of Information Security Management Systems, an official release said here today. Federal Bank employees observe strike

Kochi, Mar 7 (UNI) A section of Federal Bank employees obsereved a day's strike here today without issuing notice. A release said an employee of the bank was suspended in the Punalur branch of the bank yesterday for indecent, disorderly and unruly behaviour in the premises of the bank under the influence of alcohol and threatening and using filthy languages against the Branch Manager. It was in this context that the employee was placed under suspension and the disciplinary action initiated.....

Call money ends high at 5.45-5.65 pc

Mumbai, Mar 8 (UNI) Interbank call money rates closed firm at 5.45-5.65 per cent as against 5.50-5.60 per cent on previous day's close on sufficient funds in the market, brokers said.
