Mizoram Chief Minister destroyed 220 bottles of liquor

Aizawl, Mar 7 (UNI) Chief Minister Zoramthanga destroyed 220 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor at Tuikhuahtlang here today.

The liquor bottles were seized by an NGO, Central Young Mizo Association(YMA).

Chief Minister appreciated the crusade against drug launched by YMA's Supply Reduction Service (SRS) and urged the people to continue the surveillance over drugs.

''The most effective weapon to fight against social evil is the unity between common people and voluntary organisations. Only selfless efforts can help in the development of the nation,'' he added.

Assistant Public Prosecutor of Delhi Police arrested for bribery

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Public Prosecutor of the Delhi Police, posted at Patiala House Court, for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. The complainant of CBI trap case was the defence lawyer of a case registered in R K Puram Police Station which ended in acquittal, according to the CBI. Wanted criminal held in UP's capital

Lucknow, Mar 7 (UNI) A wanted Bihar based criminal was arrested in Uttar Pradesh capital late last night, police today said. Acting on a tip-off, cops reached the Mohanlalganj police station area and nabbed history-sheeter Virendra Kumar, a native of Saharsa district of Bihar. On being frisked, a pistol and some cartridges were recovered from his possession. Virendra's name spelled terror in Saharsa and was wanted in several murder cases, police added. UNI.....
