Meghalaya annual plan fixed at Rs 1,120 cr

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) The annual plan size for the North Eastern State of Meghalaya for 2007-08 was fixed at Rs 1,120 crore as against Rs 900 crore during 2006-07, which includes an additional Central assistance of Rs 73 crore for projects of special interest to the State.

The plan was finalised at a meeting between Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Meghalaya Chief Minister J D Rymbai.

Mr Ahluwalia said the Centre has asked the State Governemnt to pick up three more districts for providing employment under the National Rural Employment Scheme (NRES).

Mr Rymbai said though they have asked for a plan allocation of Rs 1,294 crore to take up a number of developmental projects in the State but they are happy with the allocation.

Moser Baer to set up thin film project through SPV

Trishakti Electronics to receive 4% commission from China's Liaohe

New Delhi, Mar 5 (UNI) Trishakti Electronics and Industries today said it will receive a four per cent commission over a 54 million dollars contract bagged by China's Liaohe Petroleum Exploration Bureau CNPC Group Company from ONGC. The company acted as an active agent for Liaohe Petroleum to receive the contract for 3d Data onland acquisition for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd's (ONGC) four blocks. FM warns excise duty evaders

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) Warning evaders of excise duty, Finance Minister P Chidambaram today said the focus of government's efforts in the current fiscal will be on mopping up resources from this source. ''While revenues from Corporate Tax and Sevice Tax have shown a decent growth, those from excise duty have not been up to the mark,'' Mr Chidambaram said inaugurating the Electronic Accounting System for Excise and Sevice Tax(ESOEST) here.
