Life imprisonment to five

Daltonganj, Mar 7 (UNI) A local court today sentenced to life imprisonment five persons in a three-year old murder case in Jharkhand's Palamu district.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Vishnukant Sahay awarded life term to Joki Bhuiyan, Gopal Bhuiyan, Sanjay Bhuiyan, Jangalui Bhuiyan and Lala Bhuiyan for killing one Shashikant Tiwary at Rerma village under Daltonganj police station on February 23, 2004.

The court also awarded them rigrous imprisonment for two years.

The body of Shashikant was thrown into the Kacharwa dam.

NCC cadets venture on motorcycle expedition to Wagah

Bangalore, Feb 24 (UNI) NCC cadets of BHS First Grade College here will undertake a motorcycle expedition to Wagah border, covering a distance of 5,084 km, from February 26 to March 23. The team, consisting of an Officer, an associated NCC officer, nine cadets, two ex-cadets of the college as Liaison Officers and three service personnel, would travel on five motorcycles an average of 300 km daily across ten states. Mizoram Chief Minister destroyed 220 bottles of liquor

Aizawl, Mar 7 (UNI) Chief Minister Zoramthanga destroyed 220 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor at Tuikhuahtlang here today. The liquor bottles were seized by an NGO, Central Young Mizo Association(YMA). Munsif magistrate killed as car overturns

Churu, Feb 24 (UNI) A munsif magistrate, whose wedding was to take place next month, was killed today when the car she was travelling in overturned in Churu district. According to police, munsif magistrate Dimple Agarwal and her relative Anek Goyal were on their way to Bikaner when their car overturned on Sohela road near Tidiasar village.
