Kollywood actress held for murder of film director

Chennai, Mar 7 (UNI) A Kollywood actress was arrested for allegedly killing a film director, sending ripples in the Tamil film industry.

Police said actress Sangeetha, who was nabbed in connection with the case, reportedly confessed to killing Selva, an upcoming film director.

According to Sangeetha, 40-year-old Selva had rented two rooms in a lodge in Vadapalani in the city and used to discuss a movie project with actors, including the actress.

On the fateful night of March five, the director reportedly tried to strangulate himself after telling her that he had run out of money, she said.

Sangeetha, who was nursing a grudge against Selva for not being paid money, immediately strangled him to death.

Later, she locked the room and fled.

Comedian Parag Kansara and his wife held for slapping cop

Vadodara, Mar 8 (UNI) TV star comedian Parag Kansara of the Great Indian Laughter Challenge fame, and his wife were arrested by the city police for allegedly slapping, abusing and threatening a traffic police constable. The incident occured yesterday when traffic constable Narsinh Parmar stopped the Vadodara-based comedian couple's car at Fategunj circle and fined Rs 100 for driving without seatbelt. Police, however, arrested the couple under sections 332 and 182 of IPC and various sections of Motor Vehicles Act when.....
