J & K High court orders prosecution of court officials for forgery

Srinagar, Mar 7 (UNI) For the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir judiciary, the state High Court has ordered for prosecution of three court officials in a land forgery case.

Bashir Ahmad Khan, the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, in his capacity as Inspector General of Registration has passed the prosecution orders against three district court officials, identified as Arshid Hussain Zehgir, Ali Mohammad Wani, and Mohammad Ayden Phambu and two civilians-- Mushtaq Ahmed Dhar and Ms Sabiqa Ali, residents of Boulevard, for having allegedly committed forgery of the records of the Sub Registrar.

The orders were passed after a preliminary inquiry was concluded by Syed Tariq Ahmad Naqshbandi, Registrar Vigilance, High Court on a complaint lodged by one Javaid Ahmed Dhar son of Haji Ali Mohammad Dhar resident of Nigeen, Srinagar.

Registrar Vigilance in his report has said that forgery was committed in the revelant records.

This is for the first time in the history of State Judiciary that prosecution of court officials has been ordered.

He said in this particular case, the complainant had executed the Special Power of attorney in favour of his brother Mushtaq Ahmed Dhar only authorizing him to admit the execution of Partnership deed before the Sub Registrar.

But subsequently, the forgery was allegedly committed in respect to the said Power of Attorney with the aid and abetment of the accused officials, a false certified copy was prepared to facilitate registration of the fabricated sale deed for two canals of land situated at Residency Road, Srinagar, which was not the subject matter of the original Special Power of Attorney.

Women appeal to militants to eschew from violence

Dehra Dun, Mar 7 (UNI) Incidence of crime against women is increasing every year in Uttarakhand, with Haridwar proving the most unsafe place for them as the maximum numbers of heinous crimes have been recorded there. This year has seen a 26.83 per cent rise in crimes against women with a rise in reports of rape, dowry death, abducton and murder.
