India rejects allegations of involvement in Balochistan

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) India today strongly rejected the allegations of its involvement in Balochistan saying it had nothing to do with the developments there.

It also denied that its Consulates in Afghanistan were in any way involved in Balochistan developments.

Pakistan has alleged that Indian intelligence agencies were involved Balochistan developments.

''India has nothing to do with Balochistan developments... Indian Consulates have nothing to do with developments in Balochistan,'' a spokesman of the External Affairs Ministry said here today.

The (Indian) Consulates were working in cooperation with the Afghanistan government for the benefit of its people and the reconstruction of the war-torn country, he said.

Sources said Pakistan had handed over a dossier about India's alleged involvement in Balochistan to the Indian side at the two-day talks of the Joint Anti-Terrorism Mechanism which concluded in Islamabad today.

UP govt sends panels for change in police chief of Lucknow

Lucknow, Mar 7(UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has sent a panel of four names to the Election Commission for selecting the new senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Lucknow. Soymeal exports slip 14 pc in Feb'07

Indore, Mar 7 (UNI) Exports of soybean meal during February dropped 14 per cent at 4.59 lakh tonnes as against 5.35 lakh tonnes during the same period last year. However, total exports of soybean meal from April 2006 to February 2007 went up by 30.40 per cent to stand at 36.3 lakh tonnes as against 27.84 lakh tonnes during the corresponding period a year ago, official figures said here today. Rs 227 crore relief-to 2005 quake victims in Kupwara

Srinagar, Mar 7 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir has allocated a sum of Rs 227.47 crore as relief-to the tremor-affected families of 2005 an official spokesman said today. A relief of Rs 123 crore was sanctioned against 66882 partially-damaged structures, while Rs 35.80 crore were distributed in favour of 8952 families whose houses were completely destructed in the earthquake, the spokesman said.
