Final voters list by Mar 12

Puducherry, Mar 7 (UNI) The final voters list for 2007 for all the assembly constituencies in the union territory except(30) Yanam will be published here on March 12.

Joint Chief Electoral Officer P T Rudragoud, in a release here today said the final photo voters list would be displayed in all polling stations and the office of the electoral registration officers and assistant electoral registration officers from March 12 to 18.

The voters can verify their names and photographs.In case of any mismatch of photograph or photograph not being available in the list, they could approach the repesctive electroal registration officers of assistant electoral registration officers .

The newly enrolled voters could also obtain their photo indentity cards (EPIC) in the polling booths itself from March 12 to 18.

MP voters boycott poll in two booths

Shivpuri, MP, Mar 8 (UNI) Voters of two polling centres in Karaira assembly segment in Shivpuri district today boycotted polling for the by-election in Gwalior Lok Sabha constituency. The boycott was to protest the ''government apathy'' towards their land-related problems due to the proximity to Karaira sanctuary. ''Not a single vote was cast in Ramgarha's and Behganwa polling centre, while only one voter turned up at Nainagir booth,'' District Collector Manohar Agwani said. Earlier, residents of two dozen villages had announced.....

TNEB contract employees stage demo to press demand

Chennai, Mar 6 (UNI) A large number of contract employees of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) and members of the CITU affiliated Central Organisation today staged a slogan shouting demonstration in front of the TNEB's office here, demanding immediate regularisation of all contract employees. Organisation president S Pancharathnam, who led the demonstration said if the Government failed to concede their demands, they would intensify their stir. MP bypoll: Cong cries foul, complains to CEC

Bhopal, Mar 8 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh's main opposition party Congress today complained to the Election Commission against the state's ruling BJP for misusing official machinery in the byelection to Sidhi Lok Sabha constituency and Udaypura Assembly seat. ''A complaint was also made to the state's Chief Electoral Officer. In Udaypura, BJP MP and former minister Rampal Singh and his supporters connived with officials to capture booths and indulge in bogus voting,'' Legal Cell President J P Dhanopia said in a Congress.....
