Chandigarh, Mar 7 (UNI) The Family Planning Insurance Scheme cover has been enhanced in Haryana.
Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Health) Urvashi Gulati said coverage of insurance had been increased from Rs one lakh to Rs two lakh for death due to sterilisation in hospital or within seven days of discharge from the hospital.
The cover had also been increased from Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 for death within 8 to 30 days from the date of discharge from the hospital, she said.
She said the limit of coverage for failure of sterilisation leading or not leading to child birth had also been increased from Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000.
The cost of treatment as per actual arising out of complication from the date of discharge had been enhanced from Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 upto 60 days.
The increased cover would be applicable to all acceptors of sterilisation taking place during the period from November 29, 2006 to December 31, 2007, she added.
