Elected members of the ninth Manipur Assembly take oath

Imphal, Mar 7 (UNI) The newly elected members of the ninth Legislative Assembly took oath this afternoon in Manipur.

The protem Speaker O Joy of the Manipur People's Party administered oath to the newly elected members.

The results of the 60-member Assembly elections were declared on February 27 and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh was sworn in as the Chief Minister for the second time on March 2.

Mr Ibobi and Congress president Gaikhangam were absent at the oath- taking ceremony.

Northeast Frontier Railway to launch Anti-Collision Device on Mar 9

Guwahati, Mar 7 (UNI) The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is all set to launch the final commissioning trial of Anti-Collision Device(ACD) on March 9 as part of a pilot project of the Indian Railways. A successful final commissioning run will lead to introduction of the device in the entire system of the NFR on a later date. Dehradun, Feb 21 (UNI) Chief Mininster N D Tiwari today cast his vote at one of the polling booths set up in the Forest Research Institute Kendriya Vidhyalaya. Chandigarh, Feb 21 (UNI) The Punjab Government has declared a public holiday on February 24 in Valtoha Assembly constituency where polling will be held on that day. All Government offices and those of corporations, boards and all educational institutions in the constituency will remain closed due to polling.
