DDA holds draw of lots for allotment under Rohini Residential Sc

New Delhi, Mar 7 (UNI) The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) today held computerised draw of lots for allotment of 469 specific residential plots under the Rohini Residential Scheme.

Allotments were made to 85 MIG registrants and 384 LIG registrants under the Scheme.

After this draw priority numbers up to 11,221 under LIG General category, up to 22,603 under retired person 2004 list and up to 14,510 under ex-serviceman category were covered.

Under MIG category priority up to 9,376 under general category, 15,620 under retired person 2004 list and up to 11,033 under ex-serviceman category were covered.

The result of the draw has been put on the DDA website.

The Rohini Residential Scheme was floated in 1981 for allotment of residential plots under MIG, LIG and Janta categories.

More than 82,384 people were registered under different categories. Over 54,724 people have already been allotted plots against their registration and about 1,818 have got the registration surrendered/cancelled.

The last draw was held on September 21, 2005 when 1,173 plots were allotted.

The backlog of registrants under this scheme now has reduced to 25,373 after this draw.

Penang wants direct flight services with TN capital

Chennai, Mar 7 (UNI) Dr Koh Tsu Koon, Chief Minister of Penang, Malaysia, has called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and requested him to take steps for starting a direct flight service between Chennai and Penang. Dr Koon, who held detailed discussions with Mr Karunanidhi yesterday on improving trade between the state and Penang, suggested a direct flight service would help develop the trade and tourism development. He said such service would be widely welcomed by people of Indian.....

Varanasi blast survivors yet to visit Sankatmochan temple

Varanasi, Mar 7 (UNI) Two ardent Lord Hanuman devotee families who lost their loved ones on this day in 2006 Sankatmochan temple blast here, are yet to gather courage to visit the Hanuman temple. The family headed by Shiv Shankar Mishra (76) a former scribe, which lost their youngest member Shivangi (2), besides having two others, Kavita (10) and Kalawati (35) wounded in the same blast are yet to gather courage to visit the temple where they once unfailingly offered prayers.....

Spl classes for students with less attendance: CM

Hyderabad, Mar 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy assured the Assembly that the government would ensure students of Intermediate, who fell short of the required 60 per cent attendance, would not lose an academic year as the government would conduct special classes for them. Responding to the anxiety expressed by Opposition members that over 10,000 students were being denied hall tickets due to shortage of attendance, Dr Reddy yesterday said the government would conduct special coaching classes.....
