DBS Chola MF launches Hedged Equity Fund

Kolkata, Mar 7 (UNI) DBS Chola Mutual Fund today launched its open ended fund- 'DBS Chola Hedged Equity Fund' to generate long term capital appreciation by investing in equity, equity related and derivative instruments.

The fund seeks to minimise risk by use of hedging tools such as index and stock derivative instruments.

Aiming at generating returns with lower volatility, the new fund offer was opened for subscription from March 1 and will close on March 23.

Speaking on the occasion, DBS Chola Mutual Fund chief executive Rajnish Narula said, ''Investors who are concerned about the stock market volatility can consider investing in DBS Chola Hedged Equity Fund which would use an active hedging strategy to reduce the effect of market swings on the fund's long term performance resulting in more consistent returns with lower volatility.'' Mr Narula informed that the scheme offers both cumulative and dividend options.

''Units will be offered at Rs 10 per unit plus applicable load.

The minimum application amount during the offer period is Rs 5000 and in multiples of Re 1 thereafter,'' he said.

Investors can also invest in DBS Chola Hedged Equity Fund through the SIP route, Mr Narula added.

Rupee opens low at 44.50 per USD

Mumbai, Mar 8 (UNI) The Rupee today opened low at 44.50/52 against the US dollar compared to its previous close of 44.46/47 on fresh selling pressure of dollar by foreing and nationalis banks, dealers said. Later, it fluctuated between 44.48 and 44.55 with a narrow range during the morning session on some short-covering and lack of buying support of dollar by big operators. The Indian Currency slipped towards 44.50 as stock indices failed to hold on to the previous session's.....

Precious metals rise further on bullish global advices

Mumbai, Mar 8 (UNI) Precious metals were on the upswing today following bullish global advices with Silver up by Rs 190 per kg and Gold by Rs 80 per ten gm on the Bombay Bullion Exchange. Silver fineness opened upward at Rs 19,525 per kg. on higher advice, later it further improved and closed at Rs 19,615 per kg with a huge gain of Rs 190 from its yesterday's close. Similarly, in London, the silver went up 12.80/13.08 per troy.....
