AP Govt to construct houses for middle class

Hyderabad, Mar 7 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today decided to construct houses for middle class in cities and towns by providing bank loans to the beneficiaries.

Presiding over a review meeting with the ministers and officials concerned here, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said independent houses would be constructed in the cities and towns where the total population was less than five lakh and flats in six cities -- Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tirupati and Warangal.

Stating the middle income category was the most vulnerable section of the society and many a time not in a position to build or purchase a house or a flat on their own due to high costs, Dr Reddy said the government would take up an ambitious plan to build dream houses for the middle class with quality construction at most affordable rates which would be in any case 20 to 25 per cent less than the prevailing market rates in the respective areas, an official release here said.

Kohima, Mar 6 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has assured that his government will provide ''full security'' during the coming by-elections to Dimapur-I and Tuensang Sadar-II Assembly Constituencies scheduled on March 8.
