ACB raid on PCB official

Vijayawada, Mar 7 (UNI) The Anti Corruption Bureau officials today conducted a raid the residence of Pollution Control Board (PCB) official and seized Rs 50 lakh property from him.

According to ACB officials here, the raid was conducted this morning on PCB Environmental Engineer, P Ravindranath's residence and seized some documents, bank deposits and cash worth Rs 50 lakh.

The search was still going on, the officials added.

1 killed as mini lorry hits sand lorry

Kancheepuram, Mar 7 (UNI) One person was killed and three seriously injured when a mini lorry hit a stationary sand lorry today. Police said the mini lorry was proceeding to Chennai from Chittoor when the mishap occurred at Vedal near here killing Subramani (42) who was travelling in the vehicle. Curb Pvt operators, NMU demands

Vijayawada, Mar 7 (UNI) The National Mazdoor Union (NMU) recognised trade union in the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) today warned of resuming its stir if the State Government failed to curb illicit operations of private buses. Addressing a press conference here, NMU general secretary Syed Mohamood said the government departments, including transport department have failed to control the plying of private buses, resulting in APSRTC incurring losses to the tune of Rs 1000 crore per annum.
