29 injured as bus overturns

Malappuram, Mar 7 (UNI) Twentynine passengers were injured and two of them seriously, when the bus in which they were travelling overturned near Vattapara on National Highway in the district today.

According to police, the private bus was proceeding from Kozhikode to Guruvayoor when the acident occurred.

The injured were admitted to the Valencherry and Perinthalmanna hospital, police added.

Curb Pvt operators, NMU demands

Vijayawada, Mar 7 (UNI) The National Mazdoor Union (NMU) recognised trade union in the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) today warned of resuming its stir if the State Government failed to curb illicit operations of private buses. DA for coop weavers up in Pondy

Puducherry, Mar 7 (UNI) The administration today enhanced the Dearness Allowance (DA) of co-operative weavers from 58 per cent to 70 per cent. According to an offical release here, the enhancement will take restrospective effect from November one, 2006.
