Uco Bank enhances interest rates on deposits

Kolkata, Mar 6 (UNI) UCO Bank has revised the rates of interest for deposits of Rs.15 lakh and above upto Rs.1 crore ranging from one year to five years and above with effect from March 7, 2007.

The rate of interest for a period one year to less than two years increased to 9.5 per cent from 8.50 per cent, from two years to less than three years to 9.25 per cent from 8.75 per cent and for periods ranging from three years to five years and above stood now 9.25 per cent from 9.00 per cent.

The senior citizens would enjoy 0.75 per cent more interest than the above rates for the corresponding periods.

The rate of interest on fixed deposits under the UCO Tax Saver Scheme, where the deposits is kept for a period of five years, has also been revised upwards from 8.50 per cent to 9.,25 per cent.

The senior citizens would enjoy 0.75 per cent more interest than the revised rates under this scheme as well.

Ginger group of hotels embarks on pan India expansion

FIMI urges govt to repeal cess on iron ore export

New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) has urged the Governemnt to repeal the cess imposed on the export of iron ore in the budget proposals for 2007-08 without further delay. Addressing newsmen here today, FIMI's Senior Vice President Rahul N Baldhota said that it would adversely affect the working of all those miners who were in the business of iron ore. He said the Finance Ministry has imposed this cess of Rs 300 per tonne on.....
