Two minor girls recovered from immoral traffickers

Barrackpore, West Bengal, Mar 06 (UNI) Police today recovered two minor girls from the clutches of immoral traffickers at Chakdah in Nadia district today.

Two persons were also arrested from Kanchrapara railway station in this connection.

Following a tip-off, two minor girls along with two other persons were intercepted at Kanchrapara, police said adding a pair of dancing costumes and some ordinary dresses were found from their possession.The girls were likely to be sold in Bihar, police informed.

Port Blair, Mar 6 (UNI) Police have arrested a resort owner in Havelock Island for possession of drugs. ''Our team has arrested one Viraj Singh Hooda, proprietor of Sanctuary Resorts, Wandoor and recovered Ganja and Charas. A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 has been registered against him and further investigation is in progress,'' Superintendent of Police, Andaman, Jaspal Singh said today. 40 people, mostly children, fall ill after drinking polluted water

Agartala, Feb 24 (UNI) At least 40 people, mostly children have fallen ill after drinking polluted water from river Howrah at Kahsipur near here. At least 10 people were admitted to the IGM and G B Hopital last night. The water of the river was polluted by the disposed chemicals from a paint factory set up by one Rajuram Sau. He was arrested by the police and interrogation was on. People after consuming the water, reportedly, started vomiting and experiencing difficulty.....

Barrackpore, Mar 6 (UNI) A deed writer and at least three women were arrested from a firm house at Padmapukur in North 24 Parganas last night, for their alleged involvement in certain immoral acts, police informed today. Police said that a case had been registered under the Immoral Trafficking Act against the accused. 4 Army personnel killed in avalanche

Gangtok, Feb 24 (UNI) Four army personnel were killed in an avalanche at Lachung, near here, Army sources said today. According to a late report, the four jawans were on patrol when the accident occurred. They were trying to manoevre their way in a snow bound area at a high altitude above a stream at Mukti near Lachung on Februry 19, army sources said . The bodies of three jawans had been recovered, about 500 feet away from the accident.....
