Tata Sky announces 3-month free subscription across country

Ahmedabad, Mar 6 (UNI) Within 22 weeks of its entry into the DTH industry in India, Tata Sky has grown rapidly to have half a million activations, according to Vikram Mehra, Head, Consumer Market of Tata Sky.

Addressing mediapersons here today, he said, ''our next target is to achieve one million subscriber base at the end of its first year of operations by August this year in which a promotional offer has been announced. Those customers who opt for Tata Sky by April 15 will get three months of free subscription on upto four television sets at their homes''.

Mehra said to further boost the target, Tata Sky satellite television service was offering 50 subscribers, along with their families, to be flown to Mumbai to watch the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 final with superstar Hrithik Roshan on April 28.

Tata Sky's sports viewers can choose the camera angle from which they wish to watch their favourite cricketers and highlights are also available on demand at any time during the match.

Started with 55 channels, Tata Sky have now over 100 channels today and every major Indian channel was part of their platform alongwith Zee group and its presence was spread over 4,150 cities, Mehra added.

Eros International films to be broadcast globally on Sony

Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) Eros International, announced that it has signed an exclusive deal for a package of its films to be broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television, one of India's leading entertainment channels. The deal comprises a slate of released films including recent films like 'Salaam-E-Ishq' and 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' as well as some upcoming releases like 'Namastey London'. Sony will enjoy exclusive global satellite broadcasting rights to the original version of these titles for a period of five.....

Cong, BJP fire broadsides over seer issue in Assy

Bhopal, Mar 12 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Assembly today witnessed a fiery exchange between former Minister Govind Singh (Cong) and the ruling BJP over the issue of naming a government school, in Bhind district's Tola village, after a seer.
