Saffron brigade protests missionary work in Tirupati

Mysore, Mar 6 (UNI) Sangh Parivar activists today staged a day-long dharna against alleged activities of Christian missionaries in the famous Tirumala-Tirupati hill shrine in Andhra Pradesh.

The activists, including women, belonged to BJP, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. Former MLA and senior BJP leader A Ramadas also participated in the dharna.

Later addressing the gathering, Mr Ramadas said similar dharnas were being staged at all district headquarters across the State.

This was the first phase of agitation, which would be intensified if the Union Government and Andhra Pradesh Government ignored their demands to end missionary activities and attempts to bring down the religious importance of the shrine, he warned.
