Rain or thundershowers likely in North-East

Pune, Mar 6 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Hot day conditions prevailed in some parts of Saurashtra and Kutch and at isolated places in Konkan and Goa.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema and Karnataka.

They were above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, coastal Orissa, north madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Telangana, coastal Karnataka and of Tamil Nadu.

The day temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of West Bengal and Sikkim, west Madhya Pradesh, north Chattisgarh and south interior Karnataka and was below normal in some parts of Jharkhand, Bihar, interior Orissa, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, east Madhya Pradesh and in remaining parts of west Madhya Pradesh.

They were normal over the rest of the country.

Cold wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Night temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in some parts of Jharkhand, Bihar, Punjab and south interior Karnataka and was below normal in some parts of interior Orissa, east Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh and remaining parts of Jharkhand. They were appreciably above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and of coastal Karnataka and was above normal in some parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Rajasthan, Gujarat and remaining parts of Konkan and Goa. They were normal over the rest of the country.

19 lions died in last 5 years: Gujarat Minister

Gandhinagar, Mar 6 (UNI) Gujarat Forest and Environment Minister Mangubhai Patel today informed the Legislative Assembly that 19 lions have died in the state during the last five years. He was replying to a question by Mr Bavkubhai Ughad of the Congress. Mr Ughad had alleged that there were many incidents of lions dying after being hit by vehicles or such similar incidents.
