Prem Singh welcomes Planning Commission's Plan outlay for Delhi

New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) Delhi Assembly Speaker Prem Singh today welcomed the Planning Commission's decision of approving an outlay of Rs 9,000 crore for the national capital's planned development.

The money could help Delhi to achieve the shape of a world-class city besides developing better facilities for health, education, sports and transport, he said in a statement.

He thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia for giving the handsome package to Delhi.

Cracks in Himalayan glaciers due to high temperature

New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) The cracks in the snout of Gangotri Glacier is because of the recession of the majority of Himalayan glaciers due to high temperatures during summer months and sub-normal snowfall, a Geological Survey of India (GSI) report has said.
