No nominations filed for AP LC elections

Hyderabad, Mar 6 (UNI) No nominations have been filed today by the candidates for the election of new state Legislative Council scheduled to be held on March 17.

According to an official release here, the Returning Officer said no nominations were filed for the election of the Council to elect 31 members by the State Legislative Assembly members.

Four nominations for council by-election in Bihar

Darbhanga, Mar 7 (UNI) Altogether four candidates today filed their nomination papers for Darbhanga graduate constituency by-election to be held on March 24. Today was the last day for filing the nomination papers. With this, altogether 13 candidates have filed their papers for the by-election. The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on March 8. Withdrawal of candidature will be permitted till March 10. The by-election is due to death of Congress member Nilambar Chaudhry. Spl train to Ahmedabad

Chennai, Mar 6 (UNI) Southern Railway will run a special train from Chennai Central to Ahmedabad on March 10 to clear extra rush of passengers. Ranchi, Mar 7 (UNI) The CPI (ML) will field Mr Ravindra Bhuiyan in the Palamu Parliamentary seat by-election slated for March 29. Party state General Secretary Mr Subhendu Sen informed reporters today that Mr Bhuiyan would file his nomination on March 9. The CPI (ML) leader said the UPA and NDA were ''divided forces'' following inner party squabble ''which would be advantageous'' to their party nominee. All heavy vehicles in Kerala to be fitted with speed governors

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 6 (UNI) All heavy transport vehicles and stage-carriers in the state should be fixed with speed governors by April 15 in the wake of the Supreme Court direction. The vehicles should also be certified by the registering authority, State Transport Commissioner said in a release here. He said strong action would be taken against those who ply their vehicles without installing speed governors after April 15. Kerala had already faced much agitation over the installation of speed.....
