New book brings to light unknown facts of 1857 freedom struggle

New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today released a book titled 'Delhi Kranti Ke 150 Varsh' written by a journalist Aditya Awasthi.

The book, published by Samayeek Prakashan, presented a picture of 19th century Delhi and unveils certain unknown facts relating to India's first freedom struggle of 1857.

After releasing the book, Ms Dikshit said it had been published at a very appropriate time as the nation was going to celebrate 150th anniversary of the first war of Independence.

She expressed confidence that the new book would be able to throw light on the contribution of Delhiites during 1857 freedom struggle, in which everybody fought valiantly against the British forgetting their differences.
