More organisations join Cauvery stir

Mysore, Mar 6 (UNI) The month-long agitation against the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal final award in the basin districts of Mandya, Mysore and Chamarajanagar in Karnataka continued unabated, with more organisations jumping into the bandwagon today.

In Mandya, actor-turned-politician and Union Minister M H Ambareesh Fans Association took out a motorbike rally from Mandya to Raj Bhavan in Bangalore. Mandya district priests and Pandavapura sugar factory workers union took out a procession and participated in the relay hunger strike of Cauvery Hitarakshana Samithi members at Silver Jubilee park. Dharnas were staged at K R Pet, Maddur, Pandavapura and Srirangapatna.

In Mysore, Congress workers took out a colourful procession to the Deputy Commissioner's office, accompanied by folk artistes and a girl dressed as Goddess Cauvery, and submitted a memorandum.

Fertiliser Merchants Association and Electric Contractors Association staged a protest in Chamarajanagar.

Mysore, Mar 15 (UNI) A group of irate villagers of Chikkalli and the public in general staged a demonstration in front of K R Hospital here following the death of an youth, blaming the doctors' negligence for the death. Hospital sources said an youth, Girish of Chikkalli village, was admitted to the ED hospital in the city on complaints of vomiting and later shifted to KR Hospital. Saffron brigade protests missionary work in Tirupati

Mysore, Mar 6 (UNI) Sangh Parivar activists today staged a day-long dharna against alleged activities of Christian missionaries in the famous Tirumala-Tirupati hill shrine in Andhra Pradesh.
