Fire in paper mill destroys Rs 45 lakh worth property

Surat, Mar 6 (UNI) Machinery and property worth Rs 45 lakh were destroyed in a fire that broke out in a paper mill at Vapi GIDC here today.

The Deputy General Manager of the mill has filed a complaint with the police in this regard. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Two ships gutted in fire, losses upto Rs two crore

Jamnagar, Mar 6 (UNI) Two ships were gutted in a fire that broke out at the Salaya port, about 75 km from here, causing losses upto Rs two crores. The fire first broke out in the 350-tonne Safina Al Salami, due to a petrol pipe fault, and spread to the other ship Vali Bag that was anchored closeby, last evening, officials said.
