Father suspected in kids' murder

Vijayawada, Mar 6 (UNI) A gruesome crime in which a man allegedly killed his children and seriously injured his wife on Friday last, came to light with the visit of their relatives.

Police said the accused R D Prasad's relatives, who visited the house yesterday, opened the windows of the house, as there was no response from inside and found the dead bodies of children and their mother lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

On information police reached the spot and retrieved the bodies.

Ms Narmada, Mr Prasad's wife, was admitted to a hospital and her condition was stated to be critical.

Police said Mr Prasad was living in an apartment with his wife and two children of seven and five years.

Mr Prasad allegedly hit the children with a pestle killing them on the spot.

Mr Prasad is still absconding. An investigation was underway to ascertain the cause of the murder, police added.

Fake currency racket busted, five held

Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 6 (UNI) District police today busted a fake currency racket by arresting five of its members and recovering fake currency worth Rs 3.5 lakh along with a scanner and printer. Speaking to media here, District Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra said the fake currency was seized just before its circulation in the market. TNLA activities eliminated in Tamil Nadu: Police

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 6 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu police today claimed to have curbed the Tamil Nadu Liberation Army (TNLA), a banned extremist outfit in the Northern and Central parts of the state.
