Angadia workers robbed of valuables worth Rs 11 lakh

Rajkot, Mar 6 (UNI) Four armed men robbed angadias of valuables worth Rs 11 lakh near Maliaya-Miyana on Rajkot-Bhuj highway, police said.

The incident occurred at 2030 hrs last night in a Gujarat State Roadways Transport bus enroute to Batwa from Narayan Sarovar in Kutch district, police sources said.

The four men, on their was to robbed the passengers of Morbi, valuables by opening fire and creating panic among them when the bus approached Maliya Miyana in Rajkot district. They later fled from the scenne. The bus driver and the conductor were injured in the incident, sources added.

This is the fourth such incident in Saurashtra in the past four months.

On February 12 this year, two employees of separate angadias were robbed of parcels worth Rs 12 lakh in a Surat-bound private bus near Lathi. On January 17, four miscreants took away parcels worth Rs 12 lakh at gun point from the angadias in the Una-Rajkot bus near Jetpur. And in November last year, four unidentified persons stole angadia's parcels worth Rs eight lakh from the GSRTC Diu-Rajkot bus near Gondal.

HC directs State CID to complete probe in Yunus case

Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today directed the State CID to complete investigations into the alleged custodial death of Sayyad Khawja Yunus, an accused in the 2002 Ghatkopar BEST bomb blast case within a month. The CID, however, sought two months' time to complete the investigations. Bollywood financier Bharat Shah receives life threat

Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) Diamond merchant and Bollywood film financier Bharat Shah today said he had received threatening calls, allegedly from henchmen of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim over a Royal Palms property at Goregaon in western suburbs, which he had purchased from a party. 2 get bail in drugs haul case

Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) A special court here today granted bail to a company executive Umesh Bangur and a clearing agent Vijay Anand Thorave who are embroiled in a Rs 200 crore drugs seizure case. Additional sessions judge P C Bawaskar granted bail to the two upon furnishing Rs two lakh each. The court directed the duo to surrender their passports before the police. The police seized 200 kg of cocaine from a cargo vessel from near the Jawaharlal Nehru.....
