All India Federal Bank strike tomorrow

Kochi, Mar 6 (UNI) The Federal Bank Employees Union today called for an All India Federal Bank strike tomorrow to protest against the suspension of its leader.

In a statement here, the Union General Secretary P P Varghese said the strike was called to protest against the suspension of the Union's All India Organising Secretary and All Kerala Bank Employees Federation Assistant Secretary D Baby Kutty.

The Union said Baby Kutty was suspended from the Punalur branch of the bank for his protest against outsourcing of work in the bank.

Fraud sleuths probe 16 Ketan Parekh companies for 2001 stock scam

New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) The Government today said Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) sleuths have carried out an investigation into the role played by 16 companies belonging to the Ketan Parekh group in the 2001 stock market scam. Giving this information, Company Affairs Minister Prem Chand Gupta said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha that investigation reports regarding the possibility of market manipulation by the 16 companies had been received. Govt examining impact of Bharti-WalMart tieup on unorganised retail

New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) The Government has commissioned a reputed research organisation to comprehensively evaluate the impact of organised retailing on the unorganised retail sector following representations received on the Bharti-WalMart tie-up, Minister of State for Industry Ashwani Kumar today told the Lok Sabha. ASI to digitise its photo archives

New Delhi, Mar 6 (UNI) The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has decided to digitise its photo archives and rare books in the archaeological library with the help of the American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS), the Rajya Sabha was informed today.
