Youths killed in mishap

Kancheepuram, Mar 5 (UNI) Two youths were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a government bus on the GST Road here yesterday.

Police here said Haridas (20) and his friend Palani (19), both from Chennai, were proceeding to Hanumanthapuram Koil from Kundrathur when the bus going to Tiruvannamalai hit them.

In the impact, the duo were thrown off the vehicle. While Haridas died on the spot, Palani, who sustained serious injuries, breathed his last en route to the hospital.

Haryana amends tax rules for Brick Kiln Owners

Chandigarh, Feb 20 (UNI) The Haryana Cabinet today decided not to revise the lump sum (tax) rates for Brick Kiln Owners (BKOs) till September 30, 2008 in view of the hardship being faced by them. It was decided to amend the Haryana Value Added Tax Rules, 2003 in this regard.
