Prime minister to honour city-based public sector unit

Kolkata, Mar 05 (UNI) MSTC Limited, a city-based public sector enterprise will be awarded the 'MOU Excellence Award' for the second time in four years.

MSTC Limited is one of the top ten CPSEs in the country to bag the award.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will hand over the award to MSTC Ltd Chairman and Manging Director Malay Sengupta at a special ceremony in New Delhi on March eight.

The company was also the receipient of Mini Ratna award a few years ago, official sources here today informed.

Incidentally,MSTC is a profit earning and high dividend paying company under the Ministry of Steel,the sources added.

Annual Plan at Rs 9,000 crore, Montek pats Delhi CM

New Delhi, Mar 5 (UNI) The Annual Plan for Delhi was today given a hefty hike of more than 70 per cent for the year 2007-08, with the plan size being fixed at Rs 9,000 crore. Last year Delhi's Annual Plan was of the size of Rs 5,200 crore. The Plan was fixed at a meeting at Yojna Bhavan between Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. Dr Ahluwalia complimented the State government.....

BBMB signs LoI with World Bank for sale of CERs

Chandigarh, Mar 5 (UNI) Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), a leading hydro power generation and transmission organisation of the country has signed a Letter of Intent with World Bank for the sale of Certified Emission Reductions (CERs). The CERs are expected to be generated through its Renovation, modernisation and upgrading (R, M, and U) programme which would add an additional capacity of 94.44 MW from its power houses at Ganguwal, Kotla and Bhakra Left Bank, a BBMB statement stated here today......
