Pilotless Aircraft ''Lakhya'' test flown from ITR

Balasore, Mar 5 (UNI) The indigenously built Pilotless Target Aircraft (PTA) ''Lakhya'' was successfully test flown from the Integrated Test Range(ITR) at Chandipur-on-sea, about 15 kms from here today.

According to ITR sources the Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) was test flown at 1224 hours. The Lakhya aircraft has already been inducted into the defence force in 2000.

ITR sources said today's test was a developed engine version which has been used as aerial reconnaissance of battle field including the target acquisition.

Road block stir affect traffic on ECR

Puducherry, Mar 2 (UNI) Traffic on the East Coast Road (ECR) at Pakkamudayanpet kokku park junction here was affected for about one hour as the villagers of Vinobhanagar resorted to a road blockade agitation to press their demands. Demanding that the roads in Vinobhanagar with slush and gutters be rectified, Sudha, the councillor from the ward gave representations to the Ozhukarai municipality several times and there was no response from the authorties. Pakistan's reaction mischievous: Antony

K'taka Choultry staff observes dharna in Tirumala

Tirumala, Mar 2 (UNI) Karnataka choultry staff today staged a dharna in front of the reception office of Karnataka choultry here to protest against the decision to privatise it. Eight staff members gathered in front of the office and shouted slogans against the Karnataka Endownment Department which has taken the decision to handover the choultry to a private party for maintenance, choultry sources said.
