One militant killed in Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Mar 5 (UNI) One militant was killed in an encounter with security forces at Sumbal in the north Kashmir district of Baramulla today, official sources said.

They said the encounter ensued after a search party was attacked by the militants. One AK rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.

Srinagar, Dec 3 (UNI) A fierce encounter was on between militants and security forces in central Kashmir while a bullet riddled body was recovered at Sopore. Official sources said the Special Operation Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF launched a joint operation in village Ararth in the central Kashmir district of Badgam early this morning. Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) The bomb disposal squad and railway police today swung into action at nearby Kalyan station after the Railway Police Force (RPF) control received an anonymous call stating that a bomb has been planted in the Pune-bound Deccan Queen The passangers were asked to alight the train however, after a thorough search lasting for an hour, it was found to be a hoax call. Baramulla, Mar 5 (UNI) Police fired in the air and also burst teargas shells to disperse demonstrators who had blocked the Srinagar-Uri highway at Pattan, demanding the arrest of surrendered militants involved in theft and other crimes. About three thousand people, including women, today took to the streets at Nehalpora and after marching through different streets, blocked the highway at Pattan. Srinagar, Sept 24: At least four militants were killed by troops in an encounter near the Line of Control (Loc) at Uri in Baramulla district today, an army spokesman said .He said acting on a tip off, troops launched a search operation at Trikanjan, Boniyar in Border town of Uri early this morning.On seeing the troops, militants attacked them with automatic weapons and grenades, resulting in a fierce encounter.The spokesman said four militants were killed.....

Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) Maharashtra Advocate General Ravi Kadam today told the Bombay High Court that the general body of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) will decide whether the security wall around the famous Siddhivinayak Temple should stay or not.
