NMCE extends session to offset 'sun outage'

Ahmedabad, Mar 5 (UNI) With 'sun outage' likely to affect online trading and clearing from March 5 to 19, National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) extended the trading session by 45 minutes from today till March 19.

During this period, members using VSAT may face network-related problems or temporary loss of connectivity with INSAT-3A affecting KU Band and with INSAT-3C affecting Ext-C Band. The 'sun outage' timing varies from place to place as per the longitude and latitude of the place.

Accordingly, the trading session on NMCE terminals has been extended up to 1745 hrs instead of 1700 hrs on weekdays, and up to 1445 hrs instead of 1400 hrs on Saturdays.

At present, NMCE provides electronic platform for futures trading in about 190 series in 70 commodities, including bullion, metals, spices, plantation, oilseeds, edible oils, non-edible oils, sugar, gur, pulses and other food grains.

Steel manufacturers rollback price hike

Mumbai, Mar 5 (UNI) Heeding the Government's advice to contain prices to keep inflation under check, Steel majors SAIL, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd, Essar Steel, Ispat Industries, JSW Steel and Tata Steel today agreed to cut prices of TMT bars, galvanised steel and HR coils. The prices of HR coils have been reduced to Rs 27,000 per tonne from 27,500 per tonne. The increase in prices of TMT bars and galvanised steel would be rolled back entirely by about 100 per.....

ICICI Bank to incorporate new subsidiary ICICI holdings

Mumbai, Mar 5 (UNI) ICICI Bank today informed the BSE that their Board of Directors have approved the incorporation of a new wholly-owned subsidiary, ICICI Holdings. The bank intends to transfer its investments in ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd (ICICI Life), ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd (ICICI General), Prudential ICICI Asset Management Company Ltd (ICICI AMC) and Prudential ICICI Trust Ltd (ICICI Trust) to the new Company. Sugar prices rice on good demand

Mumbai, Mar 5 (UNI) Sugar prices today hiked on good demand, Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association traders said. Sugar in small and medium grade rose by Rs seven and Rs 10 per quintal, respectively, on better buying support. Sugar in ex-mill small grade declined by Rs 10 on sluggish demand while medium grade increased by Rs 10 per quintal, because of higher advice.
