Metal prices decline on poor buying support

Mumbai, Mar 5 (UNI) Metal prices declined on poor buying support along with the London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In the Ferrous category, Copper heavy and Brass utensil fell by Rs 300 per quintal each on sustain heavy selling pressure. Copper utensil and Brass cutting also slashed by Rs 200 per quintal each on sluggish demand.

In the Non-ferrous category, Zinc slab and copper wire bars eased by Rs 500 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Tin slab drifted lower by Rs two per kg on lack of fresh demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 30,600, Copper utensils - Rs 28,500, Brass utensils - Rs 23,200, Brass cuttings - Rs 24,300 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 33,800, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,400, Zinc slab Rs 18,500, Lead ingots - Rs 8,200, Tin slab - Rs 680 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,050 (per kg).

Gold falls, Silver declines

Rupee resumes softer at 44.35/37 per USD

Mumbai, Mar 5 (UNI) The rupee today opened lower at 44.35/37 per US Dollar against 44.29/30 on the previous day's closing on lack of fresh dollar demand from local opeators. Later it fluctuated between 44.35 and 44.49 per USD on some short-covering and scattered dollar demand by foreing banks. However, the Rupee slipped as concerns over FII flows increased with another sell-off on the stock market, brokers said. UNI.....

Gremach Infrastructure Equipments IPO to open on Mar 8
