Manipur smeared with Holi flagrance

Imphal, Mar 6 (UNI) Holi or Yaoshang in local term is being celebrated in Manipur for the third day today with religious fervour and gaity.

Holi in Manipur is celebrated in for five days.

All business eastablishments and educational institutions remained close to mark the colour festival.

Hundreds of devotees came to the Shri Shri Govindajee temple, Imphal, to offer special prayer today.

Yaoshang sports mark the celebrations as in every locality organsied sporting events for youngs and the old, men and women.

People from six to 60 years take part in the sporting events.

Every night Thabal Chongba (Dance in the moonlit night) is being organized in every locality where girls and boys dance in a circle.

Assam Rifles gun down two UNLF Cadres

Shillong, Mar 5 (UNI) Two UNLF militants were killed in an encounter with the Assam Rifles in Manipur's Aishi village under Ukhrul district on March 3, official sources said here today.
