Man falls dies after falling into well in Anand

Anand, Mar 5 (UNI) A man died after falling into a deep well today at Umreth's Sarvodaya Society, 20 km from here.

The deceased Sanjaybhai Valabhai Waghri, 25, had gone to the well and was peering into it when he slipped and fell in, Dakor fire brigade officials, who fished out his body, said.

Waghri had come to Umreth along with his family members from Dudeshwar area of Ahmedabad to celebrate Holi, they added.

Patil takes a dig at CM over merger suggestion

Retired CS should probe illegal constructions in KDMC: HC

Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today directed the state government to suggest the name of a retired chief secretary to head the proposed fact-finding committee to look into the illegal constructions in Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC). The state government had suggested the name of a retired divisional commissioner to inquire into the illegal constructions from April 1, 1996 to 2004. But, a bench of justices F I Rebello and R M Sawant insisted that the cut-off date.....
