LS to adjourn tomorrow to mourn Mahto's death

New Delhi, Mar 5 (UNI) The Lok Sabha will adjourn tomorrow without transacting any business as a mark of respect to JMM MP Sunil Mahato who was shot dead by naxals in his Jamshedpur constituency yesterday.

The Lower House would assemble as usual at 1100 hrs and would adjourn after obituary reference by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.

The house would also observe two minutes' silence.

Lok Sabha Secretariat sources said the ''general consensus'' was to adjourn the house on the day of the funeral of a sitting member in Delhi.

However, it has become a practice to adjourn the house even if a sitting member dies elsewhere.

Mr Mahto, a first-time member, was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2004.
