IAF's cycle expedition concludes

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 5 (UNI) The cycle expedition organised by the Indian Air Force as part of its platinum jubilee celebrations concluded here.

The expedition, which was flagged off on February 24 at Thanjavur concluded here after passing through Pudukottai, Thirupattur, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Kovilpatti, Thirunelveli, Nanguneri, Nagercoil and Kuzhitturai, an official release said here today.

A team of 10 Air Force personnel participated in the event, which was led by Junior Warrant Officer J R Singh.

The expedition was orgainsed to highight, IAF in service of the nation, national integration, creating spirit of adventure among the air warriors and attracting rural and urban youth to defence services, Air Force in particular, the release added.

Shillong, Mar 6 (UNI) A team of Indonesian soldiers has arrived at CIJW School in Vairangte, Mizoram for a joint exercise with the Indian Army. Under-age marriage rises in the Northeast

Aizawl, March 2 (UNI) Despite several initiatives, incidence of under-age marriages have increased in six Indian states, including four northeastern states and West Bengal, reports said. The latest report of National Family Health Survey (NFHS) 2005-06 today revealed that 20.6 per cent girls in Mizoram, 41 per cent in Tripura, 40.6 per cent in Arunachal Pradesh and 30.1 per cent in Sikkim were married-off below the age of 18. Indonesian Naval ship visits Andaman

Port Blair, Mar 6 (UNI) An Indonesian Naval Ship 'KRI Iman Banjol' along with an aircraft 'Nomad P841 (MPA)' has arrived in Port Blair for the ninth cycle of coordinated patrol with the Indian Navy, command sources said today.
