Workshop on prevention of HIV/AIDS from Mar 6

Hyderabad, Mar 4 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS) in association with Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust, will organise a workshop on "Workplace Intervention for Prevention of HIV/AIDs" here on March six and seven.

The two-day workshop would deliberate on operational plans to make the preventive policy more effective, its implementation in various large, medium and small enterprises and setting up of a monitoring and evaluation system, a release said here.

Andhra Pradesh was one of the six high HIV prevalent states in the country. Nearly 50 per cent of the new cases occur in the age group of 15 to 24 years and 90 per cent in the 15-49 age group, the release added.

Cancer is preventable: Dr Dattatreyudu

Recommendations invited for National Child Award

Chandigarh, Mar 12 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration has invited recommendations for the ''National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement'' for nominations of suitable/deserving Children between the age of four and 15 years. The child should have achieved some exceptional achievement in the field of academics, arts, culture, sports and any other field.
