Sunny day makes Holi merrier for revellers

New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) A bright and sunny day greeted Holi revellers in the Capital today with a nip in the air tucked-in, even as the evening brought a sweep of cloud or two with it but no rains.

While the maiximum temperature hovered at 26 degree Celsius, which was one degreee below normal and two degrees more than yesterday, the minimum for the day remained normal at 13.1 degrees.

Following the trend of the past two days, Delhiites witnessed a clear sky with bright sunshine -- adding a strand of joy to Holi celebrations and the almost announcing the arrival of Summer.

With the weather office forecasting a mostly sunny day for the next 24 hrs and the continuance of dry and sunny weather conditions, winter seems to be winding up in the Capital, though yesterday the weatherman had predicted that night temperatures would fall and possiblility of rain or snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during the next 48 hours under the influence of a feeble western disturbance.

''The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to rise and register 27 and 14 degrees respectively with no rainfall,'' it said while adding that maximum humidity would be around 84 and minimum 34.

AP Govt mulls concessions for woman entrepreneurs

Hyderabad, Feb 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the state government would consider providing concessions to woman entrepreneurs in the state. Inaugurating a seminar on ''Investment Opportunities in IT and ITeS' organised by the Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) here, Dr Reddy said women entrepreneurs were coming up with various ventures, including those in the IT sector. YFLO Chairperson Harjinder Kaur Talwar said the Indian IT-ITeS industry had recorded a revenue of 23.6 billion US.....

New Technopark building inaugurated in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 22 (UNI) The Technopark here emerged as one of the largest IT Parks in the country with Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan inaugurating a 850,000 sq ft new building, taking its total built-up area to 2.2 million sq ft. Tejaswini, the seventh in Technopark and the largest building in the state, has already been leased out to major IT companies. Stop export of iron ore, Jindal tells Centre

Hubli, Feb 22 (UNI) Jindal Steel Works (JSW) Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Sajjan Jindal today urged the Centre to stop export of iron ore forthwith to avoid shortage in the future. Mr Jindal, who was here to participate in the inaugural function of 'Incomex-2007', a mega industrial exhibition, told newspersons here that the country was getting a royalty of Rs 289 crore per 100 million tonnes of iron ore export.
