Party members greet Sonia Gandhi on Holi

New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) Congress president Sonia Gandhi was today wished a Happy Holi by friends, relatives and AICC office-bearers who called on her to greet her on the occasion of the festival.

Many AICC members also paid her a visit at 10, Janpath and wished her 'Happy Holi'.

Some 20-30 school children too called on her and wished her on the occasion by applying 'gulal' on her face.

Ms Gandhi, in a jovial mood, joined in this brief Holi celebration which lasted about half an hour.

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) The Supreme Court today adjourned for four weeks the hearing of contempt of court petition filed by an advocate against CBI Director and DIG for deliberately suppressing material facts from the apex court regarding the detention of main suspect in Bofors Gun Scandal Ottavio Quattrocchi by Argentinian authorities of February 6 and later his release on bail on February 23. Holi celebrated with traditional gusto

New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) Holi was celebrated with enthusiasm across the country today as people poured colours on each other and exchanged greetings. In the national capital, President A P J Abdul Kalam played Holi with over 100 children some of them disabled or orpahaned. The children also performed a Holi dance and sang songs from films. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, however did not play Holi Congress President Sonia Gandhi was wished Happy Holi by friends, relatives and office-bearers......

HC refuses to quash ED's summon to Natwar Singh

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today refused to quash the summon of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) served on former Union External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh for his appearance on Monday for questioning in the Oil-for-food scam. Justice B D Ahmed said the court would not stall the proceedings of the ED at this stage. The Court, however, issued notices to the government and ED to file their replies to the allegations by April 4, the next date.....

CBI in a fix in Kavita Rani murder case

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) After the recent Quattrocchi episode in Argentina, the CBI once again finds itself in a quandary over another issue--the Kavita Rani murder case--in which the DNA reports have confirmed that neither of the two bodies recoverd from a canal was of the Meerut University lecturer. The CBI's fix emanates from the fact that the case registered under Section 302 of the IPC now stands grounded after the DNA report, confirming that none of the two bodies.....
