Pak Maritime Security personnel detains 12 Indian fishermen

Porbandar, Mar 4 (UNI) Pakistan Marine Security personnel have detained 12 fishermen and seized five boats from them in Arabian Sea off Jakhao port.

The Pakistani personnel allegedly detained the fishermen, while they were sailing in the Indian waters and captured 13 fishermen along with five boats yesterday. They, however, released one of them, identified as Kanubhai Bhikhabhai, who returned to Okha Port in another boat.

He informed the incident to Custom Officials and Fisheries department, Gujarat Pradesh Youth Congress Fisheries Chairman Manish Lodhari today said.

The three boats belong to fishermen from Mangrol and one each from Veraval and Porbandar, Mr Lodhari added.

4 arms smugglers arrested, arms seized

Azamgarh, Mar 15 (UNI) Police arrested four members of an interstate gang of arms smugglers and seized a large number of weapons from their possession. Police superintendent N K Srivastava said two motorcycle-borne youth were nabbed during a vehicle checking drive at Bhormau village in Phoolpur area. Later, two other youth were also arrested on clues provided by them. Four foreign-made pistols, five countrymade pistols, 100 cartridges, one motorcycle and five mobile phones were seized. 16 people arrested, Bajrangdal

Basirhat (Bengal), Mar 04 (UNI) At least 16 people were arrested following a clash between two rival groups at Sarberia under Sandeshkhali police station area in North 24 Parganas today. Unofficial sources said Bajrangdal members were holding a meeting on the occasion of Holi when a rival group attacked the people assembled in the meeting venue resulting in clash between them. Many people sustained injuries following the clash. Police immediately rushed to the spot and rounded up at least.....
