Jharkhand celebrates Holi with fervour

Ranchi, Mar 4(UNI) Jharkhand celebrated Holi today with traditional fervour and gaiety.

Among the VIPs, Chief Minister Madhu Koda led his council of ministers to celebrate the occasion while Opposition leader and former Chief Minister Arjun Munda did not lag behind.

Governor Syed Sibtey extended his greetings to the people on the occasion.

Mr Koda also greeted and hoped the festival of colour would usher peace and amity in the state.

With the X and XII standard examinations on, the state capital witnessed relatively less holy revellers on the street.

So far, no untward inicident was reported from any part of the state.

AEPC to set up 50 training centres across India

Chennai, Mar 12 (UNI) With the intention of inviting investments and creating more jobs in the textile industry, the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) is setting up 50 Apparel Training and Design Centres (ATDCs) across the country during 2007. The centres will conduct various training courses on garment manufacturing at the shop floor level, AEPC Chairman Vijay Kumar Agarwal told mediapersons while inaugurating a new ATDC in the city here today. 7 Deccan passengers fail to board Agartala flight

Kolkata, Mar 4 (UNI) A number of Air Deccan passengers today protested against the airline authority at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport as they were not accomodated in an Agartala-bound flight in spite of possessing valid tickets. Airport officials said the Deccan flight was scheduled to depart at 1250 hrs. Although the aircraft had a capacity of 180 seats, tickets were issued to 187 passengers.
