'Introduce chapter on all religion in the school syllabus'Agnivesh

Bangalore, Mar 4 (UNI) Bandhura Mukti Morcha Chairman Swami Agnivesh today called for inclusion of a chapter on all religion in the country in the School syllabus to impart knowledge on different religion to the students.

Delivering a talk on 'Combating new faces of fascism' organised by Forum for Democracy and Communal Amity here, he said that the students should learn about all religion right from the beginning so that by the time they pass out they would have better knowledge and fight against misuse of religion by vested interests.

Swami Agnivesh also called for bringing together all religious heads to a common platform and chalk out common minimum program to combat fascism.

"When political parties can come together to share the power as it happened with National Democratic Alliance and now United Progressive Alliance, why not all religious heads learn lesson and come together to fight against elements which are creating communal tension in the country", he questioned.

He said that battling against female foeticide should be first step to fight against communal forces. "We should come together to fight against Dowry, which is present in all religion and largely linked with foeticide. Cast system and Communalism are two faces of a coin we should eliminate both."
