Illicit liquor seized

Gaya, Mar 4(UNI) Police arrested 13 people, including four women, on charges of manufacturing illicit liquor at Bakror and Mastipur villages under Bodhgaya police station yesterday night.

Police sources said acting on a tip off, police raided the villages and detected 350 litres of country liquor and utensils used for fermentation of liquor.

The arrested persons were sent to jail today after they were produced before a magistrate, sources added.

One killed, 2 seriously injured in road accident

Tirupati, Feb 23 (UNI) One person was killed on the spot and two others were seriously injured in a road accident last night. Police said the accident occured when their bike collided head-on with an Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation bus near TTD's Padmavathi Kalyana Mandapam here. SHO wounded by criminal

Chhatarpur, MP, Mar 4 (UNI) A Station House Officer was admitted to the district hospital here after sustaining a gunshot wound to the shoulder from a criminal's country-made weapon at this district's Digpura village today, the police said. Maharajpur SHO Malkhan Singh went to the village to arrest absconding murderer Ajaypal Singh. The bullet was extracted and the officer stated to be out of danger. Ajaypal was subsequently apprehended. His father and brother are also arrested. UNI.....

Man gunned down

Bhopal, Mar 4 (UNI) A man was gunned down this afternoon in the local Jahangirabad area this afternoon, the police said. The deceased identified as Dileep, who was declared dead after being rushed to Hamidia Hospital. An additional police force has been stationed in the locality. Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 23 (UNI) A Telugu Desam Party (TDP) worker was allegedly shot dead by Maoists in Yellupalli village of Prakasham district in the state, this morning. The deceased was identified as Eruva Tirupal Reddy (55), a former Sarpanch of the village, police said. Mr Reddy had been warned by the Maoists for being an informer to the police. He had left his village four months ago fearing threat to his life and was residing at Giddalur......

Boy killed, body hung

Jabalpur, Mar 4 (UNI) A 11-year-old boy was murdered and his body hung from a tree in this district's Kankarkheda village, the police said. Kankarkheda-resident Latti Barman yesterday alerted the police that his relative's son Rakesh alias Chhotu was hanging in Ramnath Patel's farm.
