Holi celebrated in MP

Bhopal, Mar 4 (UNI) The Festival of Colours was celebrated with traditional gaiety and fervour across Madhya Pradesh today.

Security arrangements were in place in sensitive areas as communal incidents recently affected some places in the state.

Reports of celebrations poured in from Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Sagar, Rewa and other places.

Groups of children, youth, women and aged people were observed celebrating on the streets since morning.

Chidambaram-defends General Budget,says it has focus on agriculture

Chennai, Mar 11 (UNI) Finance Minister P Chidambaram today defended Union Budget 2007-08 saying it was aimed at distributing the fruits of economic growth in an equitable fashion among all sections of the society, especially the poor, besides giving a boost to agriculture. Two Asom towns come under rehabilitation package

Silchar, Mar 4 (UNI) The Centre has introduced a scheme to rehabilitate families affected by border fencing, official sources said. At present two border towns in Asom, including Karimganj and Dhubri have been brought under the Integrated Housing Slum Development Project, sources said yesterday, adding, that the project was mooted by the Ministry of Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation. In Karimganj, 425 such families will be rehabilitated to a proposed multi-storyed housing complex, which will be raised on 20.....

FIEO urges TN to set up seperate export promotion board
