Holi celebrated in Kashmir, BSF, CRPF and other joing the festival

Srinagar, Mar 4 (UNI) Holi, the festival of colours, was celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm in the Kashmir valley People, belonging to minority community, were seen sprinkling coloured water and throwing colour powder at each other, to mark the occasion.

They also exchanged pleasantries on the occasion.

Away from their famlies, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel celebrated the festival in their respective camps at Humhama in the central Kashmir district of Badgam.

Reports of holi celeration were also received from different Army and other security force camps in the valley.

Srinagar Mar 4 (UNI) Two militant outfits have imposed a ban on cable operators in the Kashmir valley. The outfits -- Al-Madina and Al-Badr -- in a statement to local media organisations, have asked the cable operators to stop their services in the Valley. Similar bans were imposed by different militant outfits on the cable operators in the past in the valley. Ayodhya civil suit hearing on April 9

Lucknow, Mar 16 (UNI) Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today posted the next hearing in the Ayodhya civil suit to April 9. The order was passed by a special bench comprising Justices S R Alam, O P Srivastava and D V Sharma after hearing the two parties on a writ petition filed by Sunni Central Waqf Board. Seven injured, Auqaf buiding and mosque gutted in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 4 (UNI) Seven persons were injured in two different road accidents while four houses, an Auqaf building and a mosque were gutted in the valley overnight, a police spoksman said today. He said a speeding vehicle hit and injured Showkat Ahmad at Samthan on the National Highway in south Kashmir district of Anantnag today. He has been hospitalised. UPA govt has not gone soft on Quattrocchi: Anand Sharma

Shimla, Mar 16 (UNI) Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma today dismissed the NDA's charge of the UPA government going soft on Bofors accused Ottavio Quattrocchi.
