New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) India-centric search engine and social networking site 'ByIndia.com' is all set to launch 'Google Adwords-Like' advertising system in the country from March 15.
'ByIndia.com', a subsidiary of US-based Web2Corp, will feature keyword listings on the top of the page as well as on the right margin, similar to 'AdWords' functionality.
However, unlike 'AdWords', inline images will be supported on advertisements on the right margin, affording advertisers an opportunity to reinforce advertisements with extra visual punch, it added.
''We will be able to gain significant market share in India quickly. This is crucial both for 'ByIndia' and for advertisers because early movers will have the opportunity to get a large share of the average Indian web user's mindshare quickly and at a tiny fraction of the price of advertising in more developed markets,'' Web2Corp Chief Executive Officer William Mobley said in a statement.
Mr William said, while the market in India is smaller than Google's overall reach, it's undergoing an almost explosive growth, adding that the Indian media market will grow from 9.2 billion dollars in 2007 to 17 billion in 2012.
Google's AdWords programme netted the company more than seven billion dollars in 2006.
