Boy killed in explosion

Basirhat, Mar 4 (UNI) A boy was killed in an explosion at Cachharipara under Sandeshkhali police station area in North 24 Parganas yesterday evening, police today said.

Sushanta Sardar (8) was seriously injured as a bomb exploded when he kicked it.

The boy was rushed to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, police added.

Machilipatnam, Feb 23 (UNI) The relay fast of the Machilipatnam Port Sadhana Samiti demanding to drop the proposed move of shifting the Machilipatnam Port, entered the 70th day today. Talking to UNI, one of the Samithi leaders T Ramamohana Rao alleged that the MAYTAS Company, which bagged the tender was trying to shift the port to Goguleru from here. Minor raped and killed in Bihar

Munger, Mar 4 (UNI) A minor girl was killed after being raped at Lal Kothi under Kotwali police station here today. Deputy Police Superintendent Imtiaz Ahmad Khan said that the criminals picked up the girl when she was playing holi with her friends near her residence in Lal Kothi locality. Later the girl was raped and subsequently killed. Mr Khan said raids were being carried out to nab the criminals while the body was sent for autopsy. Meanwhile, local residents pelted.....

Gaya, Mar 4(UNI) Police arrested 13 people, including four women, on charges of manufacturing illicit liquor at Bakror and Mastipur villages under Bodhgaya police station yesterday night. Police sources said acting on a tip off, police raided the villages and detected 350 litres of country liquor and utensils used for fermentation of liquor. Tirupati, Feb 23 (UNI) One person was killed on the spot and two others were seriously injured in a road accident last night. Police said the accident occured when their bike collided head-on with an Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation bus near TTD's Padmavathi Kalyana Mandapam here.
