Arrangements made for smooth conduct of public exam

Hyderabad, Mar 4 (UNI) All arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the intermediate public examination in the state from tomorrow.

The second year public examination will start from March six.

In all 15.13 lakh candiates (both vocational and general) stream would appear for the public examination in 1981 colleges, selected as examination centres, an official release said here today.

In twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, 154 examination centres were constitued.

As many as 7.01 lakh regular candidates would appear for the first year public examination and 5.48 lakh regular candidates for the second year examination.

While 1.84 lakh private candidates would appear for the second year examination, as many as 78,416 regular, private and vocational candidates would appear for the first and second year examinations.

Severe action would be taken against those indulging in malpractices. Students and staff would not be allowed to carry cellphones and other electronic gadgets inside the examination hall, the release added.

Youth drowns in pond

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 4 (UNI) A 10-year-old boy was found dead in a pond at Pedanindrakolanu village in Nidamarru mandal of West Godavari district yesterday. Police said the mishap occurred when the youth Mutyala Balaji(10) went with his friends to the pond for taking bath after celebrating the 'Holi' at his residence. Balaji's friends and the residents of the area could not hear him when he cried for help before being drowned. The youth's body was, however, fished out.....

India-GAP mooted by APEDA to promote agricultural exports

Tiruchirapalli, Feb 24 (UNI) The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) today mooted India- Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) at par with Europe GAP and others. Talking to newspersons here, S Dave, Director, APEDA, said APEDA had submitted a document to the Ministry of Agriculture incorporating 115 parameters on a wide ambit of field to post-harvest exercises. He said the document covers all the agro-products like fruits, vegetables, pulses, cereals, spices and medicinal plants. There was no need.....

RTC employees to organise mass dharnas in AP

Hyderabad, Mar 4 (UNI) Demanding that the government cancel the permission granted to private bus operators in Andhra Pradesh, National Mazdoor Union (NMU) President N A Khan today said a large number of state owned Road Transport Corpoation (RTC) workers would participate in agitation programmes at all mandal and district headquarters from March five to eight. Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Khan said the union would organise dharnas and stage demonstrations to protest against the government's 'anti-RTC development' policies. The RTC.....
